15 pass since occupation of Azerbaijan’s Zangilan Region by Armenian armed forces

15 years have passed since the occupation of Azerbaijan’s Zangilan Region by Armenian armed forces.

Strategically important Zangilan Region rich in the largest plane-tree forests in Europe, molybdenum, gold, granite and other underground resources was occupied by Armenians on October 29, 1993. 707 sq m- area Zangilan Region had 34,000 people. 188 people were killed and 44 went missing as a result of Armenian aggression. Zangilan is the last occupied region of Azerbaijan. Warning against the occupation prevented much greater massacre in the region.
33,000 Zangilan residents were displaced as a result of Armenian occupation. Ecological terrorism continues in the region. Armenians cut off centuries-old plane trees, misappropriate territories rich in natural resources.

Armenia decided to play a smeary game with our country

Armenian officials of one of the biggest Internet portals of Russia MAIL.RU, staking on the good neighbor relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, decided to play a smeary game with our country.

This is a game, where the main rule is the complete non-observance of moral, ethical and other norms, peculiar of normal people.

This pro-Armenian site (it is impossible to call MAIL.RU otherwise) is again deliberately distorting information about Azerbaijan, challenging the territorial integrity of our country.

Yesterday, Day.Az posted a material, according to which MAIL.RU, providing information about services on cheap calls throughout the world, fixed Nagorno Karabakh as part of Armenia, thus separating it from Azerbaijan de-facto in the section on tariffs.

Day.Az called on all the readers, not indifferent to our country, to write a letter of protest to the aforementioned company. The readers launched a campaign on sending the letters with protests. And in the evening we discovered that the mistake on the website was corrected.

Yet, to the great regret and disappointment, today the Day.Az officials found out that a link on "Armenia Artsakh" has appeared on the website in place of the "Armenia-Nagorno Karabakh" link.

Yesterday Day.Az received a letter from the adviser of the embassy of Azerbaijan to Russia B.Zeynalov which read that after getting the information about the mistake on the MAIL.RU internet portal, the embassy of Azerbaijan to Russia sent the due appeal addressed to the director of the portal Oleg Ilichev.

Moreover, the embassy official contacted with the company and held a detailed explanatory work.

He stressed the illegality of distortion of information about Azerbaijan within its internally recognized borders and demanded to be further attentive to the information, posted on the portal.

As is seen, this interference was not effective and MAIL.RU again fixed Karabakh as part of Armenia, calling it Artsakh.

We call on the Azerbaijani embassy to Russia to interfere with this issue and react sharply on the unprecedented respect of the MAIL.RU portal towards our country.

The situation has reached the point of marasmus, when Armenian officials of the Russian company deliberately cause differences in the good neighbor relations between Russia and Azerbaijan.

We call on both the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan to send an official letter of protest to MAIL.RU, threatening to the said pro-Armenian company to completely close its access in Azerbaijan.

We will continue closely watching the developments.

Russian portal MAIL.Ru corrected its "mistake" only after interference of the Azerbaijani embassy to Russia.

Day.Az has received a letter from the adviser of the Azerbaijani embassy to Russia B.Zeynalov, which says:

"In the result of efforts of the Azerbaijani embassy to Russia the link to Armenia-Nagorno Karabakh was removed from MAIL.Ru on October 27 and Nagorno Karabakh was fixed as part of Azerbaijan.

But at the same time the section on Armenia again included the link "Armenia-Artsakh".

Due to this fact the embassy again contacted the website administrators and demanded to remove this link, which was attained by 17:00 Moscow time.

The embassy will watch the situation and spare no efforts for aversion of such facts in the future..."

It should be noted that by removing "Artsakh" from the division "Armenia", MAIL.RU also removed the section Nagorno Karabakh from the section on Azerbaijan.

What has caused the impunity of the Armenian employees of the Russian portal?

Let's take a small trip to history. The events started to develop just six months ago.

First of all, Azerbaijani websites, including Day.Az, APA and Trend were removed from the rating of new agencies of MAIL.RU http://top.mail.ru/Rating/MassMedia/ by different trumped-up reasons.

After the news services of MAIL.RU was launched, it started to export openly anti-Azerbaijani materials, mostly using the pro-Armenian source Regnum.

Thus, the precise and consistent work of the Armenian officials of MAIL.RU is obvious both in neutralization of Azerbaijani mass medias and introducing Armenian interpretation of history to Russian readers.

It is now necessary to consolidate actions of the Foreign Ministry, State Committee for work with Azerbaijanis, residing abroad, Azerbaijani embassy to Russia, famous Azerbaijanis, playing an important role in the sociopolitical life of Russia. It is our duty to avert the actions of MAILRU aimed at distortion of history of Azerbaijan, "Armenization" of Nagorno Karabakh in the eyes of wide public of Russia.

Two months ago Azerbaijan gave a good lesson to the systems of international monetary transfers - Western Union and MoneyGram.

After the facts of cooperation with Nagorno Karabakh separatists were revealed in the work of these companies, it was decided to stop business ties with them on July 30.

The managements of the companies were informed about the claims of the national bank, inadmissibility of cooperation with Armenian separatists of Nagorno Karabakh and they were demanded to stop such events.

The companies accepted all provisions of the National Bank and on August 7 they cut all contacts with the occupied lands of Azerbaijan. They announced that they will not accept such facts in the future.

This issue was settled within 7 days.

And if today Armenian officials of MAIL.RU are openly mocking at us, why not close MAIL.RU from Azerbaijan? We should close delivery of messages from the emails at @mail.ru network to the emails of Azerbaijani users, in other words, to response adequately. After it other Russian sites will assess the degree of the adequate response, before posting anti-Azerbaijani materials.

In other words, we must not stay idle. Otherwise, considering the great number of ethnic Armenians, occupying not the lowest positions in the Russia media area, this process may further develop and then within a short period of time no one in Russia will believe that Nagorno Karabakh is an Azerbaijani land.

There occurred a clash between the Azerbaijani and Armenian soldiers on the night of Sunday.
Azerbaijani army soldier Orkhan Shamilov died in the result of fire at Azerbaijani positions by Armenians, locating in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan, said spokesman for Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan Eldar Sabiroghlu.
He noted that Shamilov, being on the army duty, tried to silence the enemy.
By the information, in several minutes of fire exchange, Shamilov, continuing the fire, raised on attack. In the result, he managed to terminate two soldiers. Shamilov died.
The enemy managed to take the killed soldiers from the fire exchange zone, while Shamilov's body was left near positions of the Armenian armed forces and the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan tries to get him out of there.
At the same time, Sabiroghlu refuted information of Armenian mass medias that Azerbaijani army divisions tried to cross the contact line and noted that the armed incident occurred for the reason of the violation of ceasefire regime by the Armenian side.
Shamilov was notably born in 1988 and was recruited by the military enlistment office of Terter in April of 2008.

Day.Az has received a letter from a reader, which says that the biggest gas company Gazprom helps restore the gas supply to Nagorno Karabakh de-facto.

According to it, the link on the map is posted on the official website of ArmRosgazprom in the section GAS-TRANSPORTATION MAP of Armenia.

By following this link we can see a gas transportation map of Armenia, which fixes that ArmRosgazprom is engaged in ensuring gas supplies of Nagorno Karabakh.

It should be noted that the Armenian-Russian closed stock company ArmRosgazprom was created by the Energy Ministry of Armenia, Gazprom, ITERA International Energy L.L.C (ITERA) on the basis of an agreement of August 30 of 1997. The society was founded for the term of 50 years. The term of the activity can be prolonged by the mutual consent of the shareholders.

Gazprom has the biggest share in the founding capital of ArmRosgazprom. It owns 67.94% of the founding capital, Armenian government holds 26.23% and ITERA 5.83%.

In other words it can be stated that company ArmRosgazprom is in fact owned by Gazprom and Gazprom, violating all international norms, promotes the development of the gas sector of Nagorno Karabakh, considering that Nagorno Karabakh belongs to Armenia.

Gazprom is notably the biggest gas company in the world. The government of Russia owns the control shares in Gazprom - 50.002%.

Another notable fact is that on July 3 of this year Russia and Azerbaijan agreed to initiate talks on provisions of the purchase of Azerbaijani gas by Russia.

"Azerbaijan will become another country to sell gas to Gazprom, while earlier it was Azerbaijan which bought gas from us", said Gazprom President Alexei Miller, adding that Gazprom is ready to cooperate with Azerbaijan.

How can we sell Azerbaijani gas to Russia, when the government of Russia provides de-facto assistance to the restoration of the gas supplies in Nagorno Karabakh? Who can guarantee that Azerbaijani gas will not go to Nagorno Karabakh via Armenia? How can we trust to this gas structure, which fully ignores the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan? Or, perhaps, Gazprom, in fact owning ArmRusgazprom, forgot that Nagorno Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan?

In this sense, we call on the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, the Cabinet of Ministers, Azerigaz and certainly the Azerbaijani embassy to Russia, which demonstrates quick reaction to such issues, to interfere with this problem and give an adequate response to Gazprom for this issue is seriously bound to the strategic interests of our country.

The Times: “Muslim Magomaev was an event, from the moment he took to the stage”

The Times published an article about our compatriot Muslim Magomaev, Azerbaijan’s embassy in the Great Britain told APA.

The Times called Muslim Magomaev as the “Soviet Sinatra”. “Muslim Magomaev was a hugely popular Azerbaijani singer whose talents embraced traditional song, operatic arias and jazz standards and who rejoiced in being known as the “Soviet Sinatra”. Magomaev was born in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, into a family of talented Azeri performers. From an early age Magomaev displayed clear musical talent and studied music first at the school attached to the Baku Conservatoire, and later at the conservatoire itself, specializing in piano and composition. Those who remember his earliest performances in Moscow say that he was more than a singer; he was an event, from the moment he took to the stage. His winning of official approval so early in his career meant that he was able to travel and work abroad — at La Scala, Milan. After Milan he went to Paris to work at the Olympia Theatre”.
Then the authors are speaking about his creative work and his repertoire. “From 1975 to 1989 Magomaev was artistic director of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra, and continued to give public performances. He was as proud of his native Azerbaijan. His records sold more than four million copies, and he maintained his broad repertoire, including opera, love songs, jazz, and traditional Russian and popular songs. He also composed music for the theatre and film”.
