Azerbaijan taking part in international Carassauga festival in Canada for the first time |

 This year Azerbaijan takes part in the international Carassauga festival in Canada for the first time this year. With reference to the Carassauga website that the pavilion of Azerbaijan is functioning at the festival, held since 1985.
The pavilion features samples of national music, dances and cuisine. Our country is represented by Karabakh music group, national dance group of the Federation of Azerbaijan-Canada Association, the Silk Woad chamber orchestra, singers Aygun and Yusif, dancer Qemer Peyghemberi and tar-player Akbar Mejidov.
It should be noted that the festival, to end on May 25, involves 23 pavilions from 40 countries. |

Spanish lie in a response to Azerbaijani hospitality |

 Defending themselves and their hockey players, whose doping tests were positive, representatives of the Spanish team used a smeary and absurd lie, regarding the period of their staying in Baku during the Olympic qualification finals.
...April 20 of 2008. Happy head coach of the Spanish team Paulo Usoz gives interview to mass media representatives. His team has defeated the Azerbaijani team by a score of 3:2 in a determined fight, however, not without the referee mistakes, as was seen, and got a right to play in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The coach is glad and satisfied, however, he does not forget to make a couple of compliments addressed to the rival and organizers of the contest, which, he thinks, was perfect.
Who could ever imagine at that time that within a month Usoz will say quite the opposite things? As soon as the information about positive results of the doping test for two players of the Spanish team was made public, the statements of the head coach and other representatives of the team became defamatory and false. |

EUROVISION - Azerbaijan made it! |

This year Azerbaijan entered the Eurovison song contest for the first time and managed to get to the finals! Elnur Huseynov & Samir Javadzadeh delivered a great performance with their song '' Day after day'' today in Belgrade. We are very proud of our boys for great entry and promoting our beautiful Azerbaijan! We- Azerbaijanis in Europe, work day and night to promote our country, because it is not well known in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe. Elnur & Samir managed to promote the country in 1 day, '' day after day'' brought Azerbaijan a lot of luck in front of millions of viewers. It should be noted that many people didn't have high expectations for Azerbaijan's very first Eurovision entry, but the boys amazed the audience with their perfectly staged show. We would like to thank everyone, especially Azerbaijanis from the Netherlands who voted and kept their fingers crossed for our country. Great teamwork! Congratulations AZERBAIJAN!
