Fikrat Amirov (1922-1984)

A prominent Azerbaijani composer, he was honored as People's Artist of the USSR and Azerbaijan State Prize Laureate. 

Fikrat Amirov is the author of numerous compositions, including the opera Sevil, the ballets 1001 Nights and Nizami, and symphonic mughams. He also wrote music for dramatic performances, chamber instrumetal compositions, romances and songs.
