Azerbaijan kicks off BakuTel-2008 Exhibition PDF Print E-mail

 
 

Iteca Caspian (Azerbaijan) and ITE Group Plc (UK) has opened the 14th Azerbaijan International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition (BakuTel-2008) in Baku.

The opening ceremony was attended by government officials and representatives from foreign countries and international organizations.
BakuTel-2008, the largest IT exhibition in the Caspian Region, is supported by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the United Nations, International Telecommunication Union, Regional Commonwealth in the field of Communications, and Azerbaijan Export and Investment promotion Foundation (AzPromo).Officials and businessmen from amore than 15 countries are attending the three-day exhibition. The exhibition sections include Telecommunications & Networks, It & Office Technologies, Cable & Wireless, Satellite Communication & Technologies, Broadcasting & Professional Equipment, Banking Technologies & Services, Security Systems, Broadband Communication and Technologies, Software & Automation Systems, E-Government & E-Learning etc.
A regional ministerial meeting will take place on the sidelines of the exhibition.
The ministerial meeting will focus on the construction of a high-speed information highway lying from Bulgaria to Pakistan and its connection to the international backbone.
Besides, Azerbaijan-Israel, Azerbaijan-Estonia Workshops and Azerbaijan-California Business Forum will take place as part of the event.
Rana Abdullayeva, manager of the exhibition, said that 105 companies from 21 countries, including the USA, France, Germany, Turkey, Israel, Russia, China and others will attend the exhibition. The event will be wrapped up on November 14.

“I do not judge, humiliate president in connection with his ethnic origin, on the contrary I express my respect. I criticize president for not seeing or ignoring the dangers of Turkey and not taking necessary measures,” member of Republican People’s Party (CHP), MP Janan Aritman told journalists in the parliament, APA reports. She said that new strategy of Armenia and Armenian Diaspora is to make Turkish people to admit the Armenian genocide. Aritman also touched on assessment of her statement as disgrace in media and political circles. She said those who say it do not know the meaning of the word disgrace. The parliamentarian said she received many calls and e-mails from people. “People say “we support you, you are the voice of the nation”. My assistants and I do not find time to answer the calls and e-mails,” she said. Janan Aritman also said she was threatened. “I have never been afraid of anyone. I do not pay attention to these threats. I am happy to be the lawyer of the nation. I will continue it,” she said.
Azerbaijani Culture Days to take place in Switzerland next year
 
 
Azerbaijan and Switzerland signed a document about hosting mutual Culture Days in 2009. Azerbaijani embassy in Switzerland told APA the document was signed within the framework of Azerbaijani deputy minister of culture and tourism Adalat Veliyev’s visit to Switzerland. Head of the Culturescapes Festival Art Services Organization Yoon Kooiman signed the document on behalf of Swiss side. According to the agreement Azerbaijan and Switzerland will host Culture Days of each other next year.
Armenian armed forces locating in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan violated ceasefire on December 3 and 4.

According to the press service for the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan, the Armenian armed forces fired at positions of Azerbaijani army locating just opposite their posts near Chayli, Seysulan, Gyzyl Oba, Goyarkh villages of Terter, Kuropatkino village and a nameless height in Khojavend
Moreover, Armenians fired at Azerbaijani positions in Kokha Nebi village of Tovuz, Azerbaijan from their posts in Chinari village of Berd, Armenia.
The enemy used machine and submachine guns.
Armenians were stopped by response fire. No casualties were reported.
